Paihia, Bay of Islands

Paihia and the Bay of Islands, two of Northland’s most iconic destinations, are also just a short drive from Tauranga Bay Holiday Park - your Northland accommodation. Pohutukawa-lined beaches, secluded bays, and tranquil harbours offer a maritime playground for fishing, swimming, boating, diving or relaxing on the beach in the warm, northern sunshine.

Take the ferry to Russell and experience this community’s exciting past. Visit the museum, cafés, restaurants and craft galleries, while appreciating Russell’s colonial architecture.

Truly one of New Zealand's most historic sites, it's the place where both Maori and European joined in signing the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840. The Treaty House is located amongst a vast peaceful estate which includes a fully carved Maori Meeting House, one of the largest Maori War Canoes and a Visitor Centre and Gallery. The estate is a must see for any visitor interested in New Zealand's history and culture.

Haruru Falls
In the 1800s, there were over 100 Maori villages along the Haruru Falls river. Take a scenic walk to the falls or drive directly there to see this horseshoe shape waterfall- very rare and quite spectacular.
